Changing the Mental Capacity Act 2005

In Chris’ maiden speech to Parliament, he pledged that it was his intention that Fiona Laskaris would success in changing the Mental Capacity Act 2005 following the murder of her autistic son, Christopher.

This change would give parents, or someone who knows the person, the ability to raise the alarm with public authorities. We believe this would have saved Christopher’s life.

Since then I have been working with Fiona, Tim Nicholls of the National Autistic Society and cross party with Jeremy Hunt MP (Conservative) and Jake Richards (Labour) to change the Act when the Mental Health Bill comes to the House of Commons soon, and save the lives of others.
